Mostly I use my vintage finds for decorative purposes, but sometimes they have a very practical use too:
I came across this delightful enamel hardly-been-used double boiler a while ago. It meant that we could make an old time favourite of ours again -
Zabaglione!
The recipe is simple and tasty - Beat together 8 egg yolks and 250ml [1 cup] sugar until creamy. Place in the the top of the double boiler and beat until double in volume. Stir in 65ml [1/4 cup] sherry and serve in vintage glass bowls! Delish!

Sounds yummy. Now I want to see pics of the meringues you made with the egg whites (-:
We did make meringues too! Just didn't get them to pose for a pic though!
Wish I were closer so I could join in all your treats!
mmm, delicious!
Oooooh! That sounds like the kind of dessert I would enjoy! But what do you do with all the left-over egg whites - meringues?
Have not tasted it before, but if it is a light custard, then it sounds delicious!
