We were invited to a birthday picnic at the
Springside Nature Reserve yesterday -

a 7 minute drive from my home. It is years since I have been there, and it was so good to rediscover the gentle natural place of beauty that it is!

It's full of walks, bridges, fauna and flora and some signs telling you what you can and cannot do and naming some of the trees.

It was good to go and we'll be back soon!

That is so beautiful. I love the idea of having a birthday outdoors like that.
Reminds me that I drive past so many beautiful places every day without noticing!
Lovely place!
A picnic in nature is just the best! What kind of picnic food did you have?
We had a Braai! Good South African way to celebrate. My friend brought along a delicious colourful salad [even had some sliced strawberries in] and some fresh rolls. There was pink champagne to toast the birthday girl and some chocolate cakes to finish the picnic off! A lovely day!
Sounds so fab!
A nice way for one to celebrate a 50th if one wanted to (-:
What a pretty place :) Looks like a perfect setting for get-togethers.
