Happy 2009!

I do hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas and that 2009 has got off to a promising start!
I thought I would have a quick flashback to our Christmas - I wrapped the gifts in brown paper this year, with brown twine and stars! I made a galaxy-full of stars! They were made in 2 layers, the base out of recycled print paper and the top from red paper. These formed the tags for the gifts and were also strung out in lines in the living areas of my home!
The Christmas table was decorated with red Gerberas in vintage pots!
They are such striking flowers - I grew up knowing the indigenous South African version as Barberton Daisies!

Barberton daisies! I'd completely forgotten that we called them that... remember having them long before they were the cool and happening flowers they are now, working under the international stage name of Gerbera ;)

How beautiful your decorations and gifts look... and happy, happy new year to you and yours!

Welcome back. Hope yours is a beautiful, colourful year.
The pressies look so interesting! You are a *!
I'm also amazed at how the daisies have made an international "come-back".
I'm looking forward to this year with you!
