Curious Girl, Lisa, is coordinating a
colour week starting today! I've decided to join in, which means that all my blog posts this week will have a colour theme!
Today is Blue Monday:

We recently went along with our daughter on a photo shoot to nearby
Inchanga, a little town about 15 minutes further inland from where we live. I was struck by the vintage benches on the platform of the old train station.

A fun steam train trip is operated to this station by
Umgeni Steam Railway.More touches of blue - the station guard's overalls...

and this blue security company sign [along with the burglar bars] in stark contrast to the beautiful red bricks and Dutch lace curtain from a bygone era!

The station is so pretty and quaint. What a beautiful country of fab contrasts we live in!
For me it is a blue Monday, 'cos I associate icy cold weather with blue.
Oh Denise, so glad you decided to play! :)
These shots are fab and it's the pops of blue that make them! I had no idea this was still running and next time I'm in KZN I'm going to make a point of going. My first ever sleeper-train experience was between Jo'burg and Pinetown - with my mum and all my siblings in one compartment - to visit my two great aunts (one who's mentioned in my blue post today) who lived in Kloof. I think it's as a direct result of that trip (SO exciting to sleep on those flap down beds!) that I still love to travel by train whenever I can.
Happy blue Monday!
I love the blue against brick/terracotta/orange-red or whatever name you want to give it. The cobalt sings! Fabulous photos!
i'm loving colour week - gives me the opportunity to peek into other great blogs. love the way you've picked up on the blue against a more neutral background.
I love the blue bench photo for blue Monday! And that train station looks so lovely!
What a lovely quaint old station! I am playing along with the colour week and singing: Blueeeeeee, songs are like tattoos - oh, I love you, joni mitchell!
Hi! This is my first time here! I am doing color week too! Glad to find so many other great blogs through this challenge!
I love how you have captured these striking blue objects in a sea of other colors!
I love the look of that station and I like your quest for blues amongst the other colours.
I believe your son but I still would not get into the water with a shark!
those benches are awesome! I love the beautiful bits of blue you found in the station.
I love little bits of blue in your photos. The viewers eyes go right to the splashes of blue!
i love the way you found splashes of blue in your day, hidden amongst the everyday :)
That blue bench is wonderful!
I love how your blues are little pops within a greater image, and not so in-your-face. Great pix!
