This year I created a Christmas wreath for our home from puzzle
pieces. A friend of mine had some children’s puzzles with fairly large
peices, which made ideal building blocks for this circular decoration. I
used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint
to cover all the coloured picture parts, and wrapped some ribbons around
from my personal stash. The result – Celebratory decor with an
interesting story – my favourite!
Puzzle Wreath – How to DIY
Generate pieces from unwanted puzzles – ones with pieces missing or ones that children have outgrown. Make sure the puzzle pieces are similar size and thickness Lay a circle of puzzle pieces out. Use a plate to help you get a circular shape. Using wood glue attach a 2nd layer on top of the first layer – placing each piece onto the gap between each piece of the previous layer. Like laying bricks – Add more layers – as many as you like. Allow the glue to dry, then coat the wreath with a layer of paint. When the paint is dry, decorate with ribbons. This year we are spending Christmas in our beautiful temporary home. What a delight and treat for us to have all our immediate family with us.
Wising those of you who celebrate Christmas a very special time. God Bless ♥
