Natural Pattern!

I have this deep secret yearning to be a textile designer. I am fascinated by pattern - but my artistic and drawing skills need a lot of help before I can produce something better than a stick figure print!

So...I had a few more moments of delight with those African Tulip [Spathodea Campanulata] Flowers - Presenting....
"Spathodea Damask"

and "Spathodea Rhythm"!

Ayelet Iontef of Allover Print has a lovely idea - She uses flower shapes to create beautiful patterns for real!

Visit her blog to ooh and aah over her work!

There is no doubt in my mind that, given your eye and your creativity, you will find a way to translate this into textile!

You could enlarge your photos on a copy-machine and you can even print them onto fabric! You have a great eye for composition!

I have to admit to being a complete sucker for pattern. I love your 'wallpaper' and the paperflower idea is really beautiful. The copy-machine idea is a great one.

I love your arrangements! The damask is beautiful. I hope you do find a way to translate them to textiles - it would really work well.

I also really love pattern and I often try to think of new ways of creating them - using the actual flower is a great idea. Hope you take it on further...
