Seen in My Garden, Lately...

This spunky Caterpillar - along with a thousand or so relatives:
Chad and Liz, miraculously posing quietly:My daughter - on her way to her School Leaver's [Matric] dance:
In less that 2 weeks, we will also see a bride in our garden! My eldest daughter's wedding is almost here. Lots of things to do!!

Wow, what a variety. Beautiful caterpillar - I just have armies of mutant ants that chew their way through plaster and grouting, and love it when there is spilled protein or fat in the kitchen.
Matric dance dress - is that another of your amazing creations?
Thinking of you and the wedding!!

The stories our gardens could tell. So much happens in them, from the tiny moments to the big life changing ones and that's part of the magic.

the good thing about caterpillars is that they turn into butterflies! My garden is also looking & smelling good at the moment :) I hope your daughter had a wonderful matric dance, mine was 14 years ago, I cant believe how time flies!! I think my Mom still has the dress - although its about 3 sizes too small now :)
Im going to a wedding on 27th April in JHB. I will think of you as you celebrate yours around the same time.

Estelle - Thanks E! No, this dress was only partly my creation. It's a long, lovely story, but a friend bought it from London and it landed up being Christy's matric dance dress. I only added the netting at the bottom and a few other minor adjustments!
HB - Thanks HB! I did think all about you as I did this garden post!
Anon - I wish I knew what butterflies these caterpillars turn into! Mind you there will be LOTS of them when they do - so I should be able to connect the dots!Enjoy the wedding on the 27th!

I have never seen a caterpillar like that. Beautiful colors! As for the wedding, that is so exciting. I hope everything goes well, at such a crazy time.

Our garden will hopefully undergo some transformation this winter and we will start spring with vigour! All the best in the lead up to your daughters wedding. Helouise is right, lovely to think of what your garden will be witness to.
