Second Lives - Remixing the Ordinary!

I love to "find" and repurpose! It's what I am passionate about and it applies to just about everything I make! .
So I love this current exhibition in New York at MAD - the Museum of Art and Design! The theme of Remixing the Ordinary is so creatively expressed
Besides the beautiful LP butterflies above, how about this ball gown made from yellow gloves, turned inside out:
And this "coral"is made from buttons! Second Lives - Remixing the Ordinary is on till February 2009!

Wow, these people have a LOT of patience, besides being creative.
I love how S African artist also make handbags, etc from LPs.
The coral is phenomenal!

I love the butterflies, too.

The repurposing philosophy also resonates with me; I wish we could do more with the everyday stuff that land in our wastebins daily ... Love the glove dress and those LP butterflies! (locally I've seen them turned into bookcovers and handbags)

Love the idea behind the pieces, and that the objects are so completely transformed into extraordinary things.

The glove/dress is as beautiful as anything seen during fashion week
