With Zimbabwe tragically in the news so much at the moment, these Cushion Covers have a poignant aspect. I finished making them out of vintage screen-printed dishcloths on Saturday. They are filled with lovely soft feather inners, backed with a broad black and white stripe and are on their way to their new home today!

Those are really beautiful!
(What's happening in Zim is criminally dreadful, and a good reminder that we should be praying non-stop.)
Hi there. Where on earth did you find these? A very pertinent reminder of moneys real worth. My heart really goes out to our neighbors. Your new project sounds very exciting and I can't wait to see the results.
These are stunning from a design perspective. And yes, a reminder, I suppose, of what can go wrong when the world turns its head ...
I would really love to own one of those. They are lovely
I love these cushions. Where did you find them? It is amazing to think that they are worth far more that the notes they represent.
truly poignant - when i was growing
up in SA, Zim was still Rhodesia -and apartheid was still alive and well all through the region - still work to do there, though...first the tyrant must go!
Thanks Everyone!
I managed to source the dishcloths at my local SPCA for next to nothing! My daughter saw a single 1 for sale this weekend at about 10 times the price I paid per cloth! Justin of Fuel Design Emporia, [who has been helping me with my plans for next year] spied them and booked them even before they had been made up!
Amazing...and the story even more noteworthy.
Love these, love your story.
Not to be a callous capitalist, but do you have an Etsy shop?
Hi Denise - I wish you had more of these in your etsy store! (I was born in Zim it goes without saying am hugely saddened by the situation there.) I recently attended the launch of a new company and the invitation to the party was printed in gold on (real) old Zim notes that have since devalued. Crazy.
Those pillows are pretty awesome! Never seen anything like it...

I would love those cushions for my Rhodesian collection. Are you able to make anymore and if so how much will they be? You can email me at geniedriscoll@yahoo.com
