Holes!

Yesterday I popped into my local thrift store and could not resist buying these well rusted vintage graters.  How fortunate for me they are filled with holes!  They came at just the right time!

Because -Linda Sue of All I Ever Wanted invited me to take part in a Week Word Contest today and the word is today is "Hole"!

Holes + light = Pattern. Very nice!
NB Do not pick the grater up by the handle after the flame is lit!!! It gets very hot very quickly! I know!

Sometimes you leave me speechless. What an incredible idea! I think it would make an awesome dinner by candlelight alternative (-:

Gorgeous! Reminds me that we had a cheesegrater lampshade for years... until I decided it was time for something just a little more grownup!

Lovely! I can imagine that with flickering candlelight they must be quite mesmerising. (Ooh, yes, thanks for the warning! I wouldn't have thought of that!)

These look really great with candles lighting them up, casting interesting shadows...but I still use my old grater, they just don't make them like they used to...highly functional tool.

Still have my old grater. Bought a new one but it does not have a slicer on the side so I have two. Now I have another use for the old one! Super idea!

Yes, your are the Recycling Clever Idea Queen of Style! I love this idea of yours - and now feel compelled to look for some holes to make my own!

Good 'no-touchy-the-handle' tip :)

Thanks everyone. The candlelight really does the trick with these graters. They are very ordinary and rusty in the day light!

On the phone today, one of my other friends mentioned this. She thinks it's great! Lovely to hear how many people come and have a look at your work, even though they might not all comment.
