Prote-ouette

My children gave me some gorgeous proteas for Mother's day.  After they faded, I decided to paint the dried flowers black. [No hidden meaning here - just being creative!]
 I love silhouettes, and these have become 3D botanical ones!
 The absence of colour highlights their structure!

What a great idea. We have stunning proteas in our garden, and I've tried drying them out before, but find they always begin to smell awful after a while. I think I'll have a go at painting them.

These are stunning, I LOVE proteas and never know what to do with the old dry ones. This is a great idea. Also yr recycled flags are lovely!!! Hilda
