I wanted to try out some stuff with vintage dress pattern paper -
This is my first experiment...

A covering for the bathroom window. It's a trial run - I will see how I feel about it over the next few days!

I folded the pattern paper into long strips, then cut triangles on the folds to imitate the triangular pattern notches on the seam lines.

I love the window treatment behind this beautiful Gossamer Cardigan from
Selvedge!

Love your blog :)
Looks so neat - glad you found a use for them!
You are just brilliant! I love old patterns - what a great idea for a gauzy magical window covering ... would you mind if I try something similar? I am going to try it in our en-suite bathroom which is rarely used - the other one with the shower will have way to much steam ...
Oh wow, this is so cool. You are very clever and crafty! I love it.
Thanks everyone! I am enjoying the humour and the look of this window treatment!
Anairam - I can't wait to see what you do!!!
Please sir - I am looking forward to try out your idea too!
so ethereal!
Gorgeous images. And your inventiveness/experimentation is even more impressive!
wow, that paper takes on a different feel when used as a window covering. do you know the work of elodie blanchard? she does interesting things with fabric as well - check it out www.elasticco.com
